I built this first boat bar for my show room.
After a couple years of restoring boats, I accumulated a lot of wood; blistered and splitting wood. They are planks that I’ve had to replace on the boats. I really hated to throw them away because it’s such a beautiful wood. So, I decided it was time to have a bar in my show room. Why not make boat bars?
This boat bar my wife and daughter talked me into leaving more rustic and vintage looking. You would think it would be easier, but I found out it was pretty much a challenge. Especially after restoring boats. You always want to sand everything smooth. With the rustic and vintage look, there is no way you can do that.
I, personally, think this is a great setting for one of my boat bars.
It’s definitely a good place to enjoy a few cocktails after playing water basketball or just lounging around your pool.
This bar is the back transom of a Chris-Craft Holiday. I had to totally replace all the wood on this boat. It was a mess, but a beautiful boat though.
I sold this bar to a gentleman that was putting it in his summer home on Chesapeake Bay. I thought that was pretty cool. I hope he and his family enjoy it.
Now I’m getting ready to start a new project. It’s going to be the ultimate boat bar. Stay tuned.
