It’s double sided…you can have drinks on all sides of this boat. I have to support the top of the bar as I go until I can build the permanent structure. Trust me; it’s fun keeping the top level.

As I’m building this, I’m always looking forward to the next step. Right now I’m looking at the bottom of the boat and contemplating what to do. Do I cut it out or just deck the top of it? If I deck it, this will make the bartender kind of above you, which some people don’t care for. It’ll feel like they’re towering over you. If I cut the bottom out, it should be just like any other bar.

So, I end up building a pedestal for the boat to sit on to hold it level and true, and at the correct height of a bar top. Then I cut the bottom out. It was a little scary move. I didn’t know if the boat was going to shift or not. It’s all tied together as one piece and one wrong move could be disastrous.

Here I’m starting to line the inside of the bar. It’s pretty interesting getting the plywood to bend. At this point, you have a lot of steps to do to just get one thing done.
