Gage-Hacker Part IV

Here she is…my Gage-Hacker!  She was used by Lake Patrol on Lake Geneva.  Can you believe someone took this beautiful boat and painted her?!

Not only was she painted white and red, but she had been painted several times.  The paint was probably a quarter of an inch thick.

At some point in time, they added driving lights to both the front and back.  Hard to believe.

Not only was the top deck painted red, they added grit so they could walk on it without slipping.  That made it really fun to strip down.

I have two sets of driving lights if anyone is interested.

The interior was totally gone and replaced with three-quarter inch plywood painted battleship gray.  Anyone like sanding?

They removed the throttles from the side of the console and put them on the top deck.  Whoever heard of such a thing?!  Not to mention, when you pushed them forward, you hit the windshield with your hands.

Wow!  Doesn’t that look nice?  Almost looks like the inside of a PT navy boat.

Both of the original engines were still in the boat; Chrysler 280s, which totally need to be rebuilt.

Needless to say, from port to starboard, it’s all engines.  With both of them, this boat will really move when it’s totally redone.

Yes, lots of horse power.

Yes, lots of horse power…in poor condition.
