Gage-Hacker

This is the next boat in line, a Gage-Hacker, and I’m very excited about this opportunity. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. So, I would like to tell you about the history of this boat.

The designer was John L. Hacker, a boat designer for the navy, who was internationally renown and identified with speed since the early 1900’s. He was also known for his yachts.

He was the creator of the famous non-pounding Hackerform hull, designed for maximum performance in any kind of weather conditions. The Gage-Hacker boats were the culmination of over 60 years‘ experience in the design of more than 1,000 boats ranging from unlimited class hydroplanes to 72 foot motor yachts.

Gage Marine
located in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, transformed the plans and designs into the finished craft.  Gage Marine employees were experienced boat builders familiar with specific conditions that must be for fulfilled to build a seaworthy craft for the region.

Each Gage-Hacker boat was custom built in every sense of the word. Each part was carefully fitted and finished and only after passing a rigid test in the water of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin was it ready for its new owner. No piece of material was ever used to meet a price; quality was the only criteria.  There was no production lines labor saving ever in effect when Gage- Hacker boats were built. They were always built to a specification:  ”Perfection as close as is humanly possible”.

The picture below is what I found from an old brochure, from the early 60’s.
