Getting a Foot Hold

Now that I’ve got the top most all the way done, I’ve turned to the base.  I’m adding some marine plywood to give it more rigidity and stability.

It’s a lot of fun to cut the plywood and keep it with the contour of the boat bar. You’d be surprised what marine plywood does.  It gives it a lot of stability, which I need, since I will be putting this up on wheels and pushing it around.  It will not collapse the base or anything like that now that it has it on the inside and outside.

I’m adding the final pieces of the top trim.  Earlier, I had added marine half inch plywood around the edge of the top and now I’m adding the mahogany for the final trim.  This adds a little definition and it just looks nicer to me.

The back trim is definitely a lot easier without the contour of the front of the boat.  It’s pretty much done in no time.  Now, I get to start cutting plugs…one of my favorite jobs.  LOL
