Can you believe I used four rolls of tape just on the strips? It took four hours just for the front. Keeping them straight and evenly spaced is a challenge. Plus, after you have looked at them for hours, you start to go cross-eyed.
Thank goodness the back only took a couple hours, but it’s still a bit of a challenge. The end result is sweet and worth every minute though.
First coat of paint. I will let this dry over night and then give it one more coat. Even after I have rubbed the tape down hard to make it seal to the boat, I usually end up with some paint bleeding somehow.
The other day, I puttied up the bad spots on the sides and now it’s time to start sanding. This is where you find out how out of shape you are after holding a sander for 25 feet on both sides. Next, I will need to pull the tape off the top.
