I have pre-cut the planks to go on the side and they have been soaking for two weeks at this point. Now it’s time to steam them.
Even the back will have to be steamed to bend with the contour of the boat.
I use short pieces of wood to strap to the boat so that, after I steam the board, they will contour to the boat. If you try and screw the plank at this point, the screws go right through the plank because it’s been steamed and it’s so soft.

Believe it or not, I use freezer bags in rolls and cut them to the length of the boards. I then slide the planks into the bag and steam them for about an hour.
