Now that I have 10 coats of varnish on the boat, it’s really starting to show the depth that I’m trying to get out of the woods.

It’s really getting that mirror effect… it’s hard to describe. You will have to see it sometime. It is pretty amazing. It definitely shows the beauty of the grain of the mahogany wood.

This is the fun part-where you sand what I call ‘tight’, to where it’s nice and smooth. Then one last coat.

Now it’s nice and smooth. I’ll spend the next two days laying out the boat to put the pinstripe on. This will take about seven rolls of masking tape to tape it off to paint.
