Just One Surprise After Another

Time to start replacing the bottom structure; the broken supports.



It’s amazing to me that most of these pieces don’t even look like they’re broken.  They look like they’re one piece, but if you wiggle them a little bit, they come apart with no problem.



Look at the keel.  It has a lot of screws left on it.  Those are always fun to remove…they are stripped and broken.



Just look at the dirt and grime that gets into every nook and corner of the bottom.

One would think that this boat should have sunk. Just look at how far away the side structure is from the bottom.


I use the old pieces for patterns to cut out the new structure…one piece at a time.


Each one is different, that’s for sure, with the cuts of angles and curves.
