Make It Shine

In this picture, you can see how the varnish really does make the grain and the color just jump off the wood.  It’s just beautiful…that’s all I can say.

I definitely need to get better lighting in my shop, but you can really start to see the definition of the wood and grain.  It’s starting to show its true beauty.

This boat definitely has great lines.  I understand they really ride nice in the water…breaking waves with no problem.  I can’t wait for the first trip out.

It’s amazing how each wood piece has different grains and they start to show their different variations as they soak up the varnish.

It’s definitely starting to look like something.  I can’t wait.  Four to five more coats and then I’ll start pin striping.  In between each and every coat, I have to sand the entire boat, vacuum it, wipe it down and then tack cloth it before I add another coat of varnish.  It’s about a one day’s process for each one.
