I remove the engines and take lots and lots of pictures.

Keep in mind, it will be over a year before I actually put these engines back together.

Lots of hoses and wiring that have to be recorded for the reassembly. Remember that everything is times two since I have two engines for this boat.

Fortunately, you can see from this picture that the wiring harness is a plug and play, which is great. However, I’m not used to that. It’s the first time ever.

Yeah, even the spark plug wires are a tight fit.

Just the transmission on this weights 150 pounds. That’s a lot of weight.

The transmission is a velvet drive which is not used much anymore. They are used in fork trucks, believe it or not. They are relatively simple and I can actually rebuild it myself.

Tear down starts now. The manifolds are unbelievably heavy. They probably weigh 75 pounds a piece.

I remember working on a couple engines that were in cars bought second hand. There is the assumption that which ever mechanics who had worked on those engines and especially the last one.knew what they were doing and/or did it right…just sayin’
