She’s Ready for a Party

Pulled her out the other morning and washed her off.  She’s ready to go.

Boat Bar Outside Washed

This boat bar is built out of a 26’ Chris Craft Sea Skiff. It has been sitting outside my shop for a couple of years.  Unfortunately, people over the years, prior to me getting it, had stole a lot of parts off of it and it was just beyond repair, as well.

So, I decided to come up with something different and I made a boat bar out of an original boat.  Through all my different posts, you can see how I’ve taken and cut this down to make the bar.

Personally, I think it turned out all right for just a vision.  Keep in mind, it is 25 1/2 feet long and 8 1/2 feet wide.  Wouldn’t this be great in an outdoor beer garden or next to a lake house?  I’m putting her up for sale now.  If anyone is interested, let me know.

I really wasn’t sure what to do or how to build something to hold the boat bar up, but building a pedestal turned out all right.

I was going to paint the pedestal black, but decided to go with the same color as the bottom of the boat.  I think it turned out pretty good.

My two exhaust ports are made of wood.  The originals were steel and were quite sharp.  With my favorite people sitting around it drinking alcoholic beverages, it would not be a good thing for them to run their legs or shins into two steel pieces.

Now that’s a pretty sweet looking back end.  On the top, you see the two brass rings?  One of them was the vent for the fuel tank and the other was a port for a bilge pump.  I just trimmed them out with brass rings and filled the holes in with a block of mahogany wood painted black to give me the same effect.

I’m sure you can see my tractor.  I use it all the time to help move boats around. Even though I have the boat bar sitting on moving carts, all it needs is one little rock and then it won’t go anywhere.

She’s looking pretty sweet and ready to go.  So, at this point in time, I will move on to the next project and that will be finishing the 26’ Gage Hacker, which is moving along quite well.

  1. Jack, I enjoy all of your boat and bar posts and admire your work. You may already follow “Lake of the Ozarks” Facebook page, but if not you might want to check it out…..might be a good page to post your picks and advertise ones for sale. There’s also a Lake of the Ozarks boats for sale FB page.
