It’s time to stain the interior to make it all one color. If you remember, it was white and gray.

I did the first couple of boats by hand with just a brush. That’s right. By hand–and it took two days. Now, I spray them with two coats and it still takes a couple of hours for each coat.

I want to spray it before I get to the next step, which is plugging and the final sanding before bleach, and then stain.

As the stain dries, it’s time to start cleaning up all the brass and chrome–just a little before and after. It is all about the details.

I’m always amazed at the number of coats of paint on them. It’s like looking at the history of the boat over the years. I get to see all the different colors they have painted the bottom.
