Vegas Boat Bar, Part VII

The clients have a room in their new home just for a boat bar. How incredible is that?  Plus, the bar will be capable of moving outdoors for their desert outdoor parties.

When he first sent me this mock-up of the bar, I was impressed with the detail. Just look at this: it’s great. Even the interior has the layout of what they desired.

Imagine the time it had to take him. But, if you want to get a good idea of the end product, this is the way to go. All it was missing was the bar being stocked.

Welcome to Lisa and Charles Holly’s new beach house. From what I see, it’s going to be pretty impressive.

Now to turn this dream into reality. Let’s start on the top rail. I have all the old boat wood except the front. I will have to glue up some mahogany and shape it in place.

Now that I have it figured out, it’s time to start shaping it…all by eye.

The number one question I get on projects like this is: how long does it take you?  Believe it or not, it only takes me an hour and half to two hours. Plus, I get a lot of gratification if I don’t make a mistake. These two pieces of wood cost around $150, but I try not to think about that when I’m shaping them.
